Meat Through The Post? Who Knew!
Meat Through The Post – We’ve just things like Hello Fresh and Gousto before, but never really considered the fact that you could get your meat through the post. We were recently invited to give Swaledale Online Butchers a try – and were pleasantly surprised at the quality of what we got.
If you’re anything like us then the cost of your weekly grocery shop is consentinyty on the rise and something that is on your mind as winter approaches. Although we know we need to cut back in some areas, what we’re trying to do is do more shopping local and invest in quality pieces rather than just cheap and cheerful. Visiting the butcher might be a treat for us, but it’s one that we really enjoy and we feel that the quality of what we get outweighs the supermarket.
Meat Through The Post
Swaledale Online Butcher
Swaledale was kind enough to gift us a voucher to try the site for size. What we loved was the range of meat that they had & the fact that there is something for everyone – even both smoked and unsmoked bacon which helped keep everyone in our house happy at least. You place your order online and it comes through the post to you the next day. We found everything was packed perfectly and you could tell that thought had been put into making sure that the meat wasn’t bashed around during transit. It also came with loads of ice packs so everything felt cool when it arrived – perfect!

The Choices
The website itself was easy to navigate with plenty of choices on offer. They also do monthly specials and meat boxes where you can buy ready-made-up boxes at a discount; which is great for those that want to try something new or have an indecisive family. They are proud to offer native livestock breeds & say they are a whole-carcass, nose-to-tail butcher; with only the highest quality meat on offer from their Yorkshire base.

The Important Bit
Of course, it is all well and good being easy to order but what does it taste like? Honestly, it tastes like quality meat and you can really tell the difference. We bought some posh bread and made bacon sandwiches and it was really delicious, and we consider ourselves bacon sandwich connoisseurs. The sausages cooked lovely and the gammon we cooked in the air fryer; came out juicy and tender.
Some of the meat we treated ourselves to
Yes, a butcher box might be a treat but it is one that is tasty and well worth it in our opinion – we recommend giving Swaledale a try!
