Ways To Stay a Bit Warmer This Winter

Ways To Stay a Bit Warmer This Winter – Even without the rising cost of energy bills this time of year can be an expensive one for household bills. Of course, no one wants to be cold at home but for many having the heating on for many hours a day is not something that is sustainable – here are some tips on ways to stay a bit warmer this winter.

Ways To Stay a Bit Warmer This Winter

Concentrate on a Room at a Time

Whatever the size of home you have, if you try to heat the whole thing then you’re going to have your work cut out for you. Rather than trying to warm up every room in the house, concentrate on the rooms you are in. For example, do you need the radiators on in the bedroom during the day? The chances are you don’t. It can seem like a faff turning off radiators when you don’t need them but actually makes a big difference so worth doing.

Invest in Cosiness

One of the nicest things about winter is feeling warm and cosy at home – so invest in making that happen. Cosy rugs, cushions and blankets for staying warm in bed not only add to the aesthetics of a room but can help keep everyone warm – without the need to crank up the heating.

Think Sensible

It is all about being sensible – we know that avoiding putting the heating on is impossible, but when you do have it on be sensible – close the internal doors, make sure there is no draught out of the room for example. Switch off the heating when you’re not at home; cook meals that are warming and even leave the oven door open when you have finished cooking to benefit from the heat generated there.
