Tips For Holidaying on a Budget – It’s coming to that time of year when we start to think about Summer and what we want to do while the weather is nice – and for many of us that includes booking a holiday! With the cost of living going up a holiday might seem frivolous but if you can afford it then why not? Here are some tips for holidaying on a budget.
Tips For Holidaying on a Budget
Staycation
If the thought of jetting off abroad is one that seems too costly then a staycation is a great idea. The UK is full of some amazing places to visit so you don’t have to miss out just because you have decided to stay on this side of the sea. If you’re on a really tight budget then camping can be a great choice – and it’s loads of fun! Plan days out where you can take lunch with you, book a hotel that includes dinner or simply choose somewhere that isn’t as costly as other places. There are loads of great places to visit in the UK where a few days away won’t break the bank.

Getting Organised
Whether you’re staying in the UK or you have decided that a holiday abroad is in order, being organised is one of the best ways to stick to a budget and make your holiday affordable. For example, being able to look up flights or hotels in advance means that you can look out for special deals and discounts. The day that you fly and even the time can make a difference to how much things cost – and being organised gives you a chance to investigate all of this in advance and choose the most cost-effective option.
Make sure you consider what to pack – you don’t want to take too much and end up paying extra for luggage allowance that you wouldn’t need if you backed sensibly. For example, look at things like men’s sailing trousers and whether they can double up as everyday trousers or what outfits you can use for night as well as day.
Choosing When To Go
Being able to be flexible with your travel plans helps – although this can be tough if you have children. School holidays usually come with a hefty price tag in terms of holidays so if you are able to avoid these in any way then that can help with costs too!
